The world should take notice and never forget!.

While the U.S. polices the world and fires 100+ missiles down on Libya, Japan has 180 brave men and women giving their lives in order to save a portion of humanity. The people of Japan might not know the best way to stop perhaps the biggest Nuclear Meltdown in history but they do know how to handle a natural disaster. While Katrina was devastating, it can't hold a candle to what the aftermath of a 9.0 earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear fallout will inevitably bring. I applaud their behavior and pray their heroism doesn't go unnoticed. Let them be an example for the world. While Earth goes through it's changes, so shall we.
Last night I had to express my gratitude. Mainly I had to write down something to help my mind understand just how and why men and women do what they do under such chaotic circumstances. I felt like I was taking a math quiz, but I didn't have the formula because I was absent the day prior. In that moment I wrote a song, a song that I hope you enjoy. But I didn't write it for entertainment, I wrote it to help people see. In this world of misunderstood politics and viewpoint news we never really take the time to think of why people do the things they do. We never really ask why people strap bombs to their chests, why soldiers are always  labeled heroes, or why a firefighters life is less valuable than the person he's saving. Not everything is black and white, and we need to see the gray. Open your eyes to the full spectrum and experience the world and it's inhabitants with unbias.
Anyway, here it is. Nothing special, but you can sing it or share it if you want.

Definition of Heroes

the name started with an F
with two hundred of us here
I can't see how many's left
but we share eachothers fears

I always could they told me
save the world someday
but I didn't know that diein'
was the only way

(chorus)
we did our best to show you
everything would be ok
you could always count on us
to keep everybody safe
but the world was changing
when waves came crashing down
the day that lives on forever
came without a sound

it's happened many times before
on scales from one to ten
but we always tell ourselves
it won't be the same again

we've seen devastation
and paid an ultimate price
while history keeps repeating
we never realize

(chorus)

now I'm surrounded by heroes
and I'll never see you again
but what choice do I have
but to proudly be a man

now don't give into sorrow
please honor my name
may your new life come tomorrow
beyond the winds of change

may your new life come tomorrow
beyond the winds of change

  1. Wow, I don't remember writing any of this. Nice spelling errors, Wheelmanstan!
